The award recognizes her dedication to the Thai people, particularly in the fields of cancer research, prevention, control, and patient care. Besides her role as a scientist, she has emphasized the importance of enhancing the quality of cancer patient care, leading to the establishment of the Chulabhorn Hospital specializing in cancer treatment. Since its opening to the general public on October 29, 2009, the hospital has continually progressed, earning the trust and respect of the community. Recognizing these contributions, Chulabhorn Royal Academy decided to elevate the award to an international level to honor outstanding achievements in cancer prevention, control, and patient care that benefit humanity.
